Zocdoc Partners With Yelp To Enable Real-Time Healthcare Appointment Scheduling

Zocdoc has partnered with Yelp to enable real-time healthcare appointment scheduling directly through Yelp’s platform, allowing users to book medical visits after searching for providers.

The feature is currently available on Yelp’s iOS app through provider pages and the company’s AI chatbot, Yelp Assistant. It allows users to view real-time, in-network availability and schedule appointments through Zocdoc’s system. Expansion to Android and desktop platforms is planned for later this year.

According to the companies, the integration is designed to reduce friction in the appointment booking process by connecting users with providers at the moment they are searching for care. Yelp said the feature helps users move from discovery to scheduling within the same platform.

Craig Saldanha, Yelp’s chief product officer, said the partnership aims to simplify access to in-network healthcare providers and improve the booking experience through seamless scheduling tools embedded within Yelp’s ecosystem.

Zocdoc said the collaboration reflects its broader strategy of extending appointment scheduling beyond its own marketplace. The company already powers scheduling across provider websites, Google Business Profiles, and insurance directories.

The platform stated that appointments booked via Yelp are integrated either through existing electronic health record (EHR) systems or directly through Zocdoc’s infrastructure, without adding additional workflow burden for providers.

Zocdoc founder and CEO Oliver Kharraz said the goal is to make healthcare booking as simple as other consumer services, noting that patients often face delays at the point when they are ready to act.

He added that integrating scheduling into platforms like Yelp helps convert user intent into confirmed appointments, improving access to care from the initial search stage.

Alongside this partnership, Zocdoc has been expanding its AI-driven tools, including an AI agent named Zo, which books appointments over the phone. The company is also exploring additional features such as prescription refill coordination to further streamline patient access.
