ZEISS India Signs Strategic Pact With Dr. Agarwal’s and Narayana Nethralaya for Advanced Eye Care
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed during the 44th Congress of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) at the ExCeL exhibition centre in London.
ZEISS India has signed a multi-year strategic partnership with Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital and Narayana Nethralaya to advance access to ophthalmic technologies across cataract, refractive and laser vision correction procedures.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed during the 44th Congress of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) at the ExCeL exhibition centre in London. The agreement builds on the organizations’ existing clinical relationships and focuses on technology adoption, clinical collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Dipu Bose, Head - Medical Technology, ZEISS India and Neighbouring Markets, said the partnership will help expand access to advanced technologies while providing insights into evolving clinical practices and patient needs.
Under the partnership, the organizations will work to expand the use of ZEISS intraocular lens (IOL) technologies in cataract care. The collaboration will also continue clinical work involving the ZEISS VISUMAX 800 and SMILE pro platforms for refractive surgery.
The partnership includes educational programs, professional training and knowledge-sharing initiatives covering cataract and refractive surgery. It will also focus on best practices in IOL selection, cataract procedures and laser vision correction.
As part of the agreement, Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital and Narayana Nethralaya will have pathways to participate in clinical studies, scientific evaluations and evidence-generation initiatives. Clinical experiences and research findings may also be shared through national and international ophthalmology conferences.
Dr. Ashvin Agarwal, Chief Clinical Officer, Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital, said the collaboration will combine technology and clinical expertise to support cataract and refractive solutions and improve accessibility.
Dr. Naren Shetty, Vice Chairman and Head of Cataract and Refractive Lens Services, Narayana Nethralaya, said the partnership will support evidence-based practice, professional education and collaborative research in ophthalmology.
The collaboration covers cataract surgery, refractive surgery, laser vision correction, clinical research, training and scientific knowledge exchange.
