Surya Hospitals Expands Mumbai Facility with New Hospital Wing, Unveils Expansion Plan

The hospital allocated INR 80 crore capital expenditure to support its women and child-centric healthcare footprint in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
The expansion is reportedly financed through internal accruals.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Bhupendra S. Avasthi, Founder, Chairman & Managing Director, Surya Hospitals, said, “The Amber Wing has been created as an advanced surgical centre for women, adding significant capacity to our existing unit and enabling access to specialised surgeries, critical care, and integrated treatment pathways under one roof. Our vision is to provide women with timely diagnosis, advanced surgical expertise, and compassionate care through a world-class healthcare ecosystem.”
Along with the establishment, the company also announced its plans to set up a new facility in Kandivali. Beyond Mumbai, the hospital chain also plans to expand its footprint across Jaipur, Pune, and Ahmedabad.
Reportedly, the Pune hospital will become operational soon, and the Ahmedabad facility is expected to be finalised by the end of the fiscal year.
"We have five women and children specialty hospitals across Mumbai, Jaipur, and Pune (which will become operational soon). We are planning to set up a new facility in Kandivali this year, and we have expanded our Santacruz facility. We have a capex of INR 80 crores for these two hospitals,” Avasthi added.
The Santacruz center has introduced the new "Amber Wing”, bringing its total capacity to over 250 beds.
The newly introduced facility has been developed as part of the "Amber Promise for Women’s Health" initiative. The wing is designed to provide an integrated and specialised women’s healthcare infrastructure.
The hospital will offer advanced clinical services, diagnostics, and surgical intervention support, and preventive care programs for women.
Key services include Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery; a Center of Excellence for Ambulatory and Robotic Joint replacement surgery; Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeries; Minimally Invasive Gastrointestinal Surgeries; State-of-the-art Critical Care facilities; a Center of Excellence for Robotic Surgery; and Preventive health screening programmes and critical care for women.
It is intended to enhance access to advanced diagnostics, while supporting early interventions and preventive care.
