According to an AIIMS Jammu spokesperson, Sinha brings experience in clinical care, medical education, training and research. His academic and clinical work is expected to support the institute’s focus on strengthening healthcare services, medical education and research.

Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Sinha has assumed charge as the new executive director and CEO of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Jammu, succeeding Prof. (Dr.) D N Sharma. Sinha joined AIIMS Jammu on deputation from AIIMS New Delhi, where he serves as a professor in the Department of Medicine.

According to an AIIMS Jammu spokesperson, Sinha brings experience in clinical care, medical education, training and research. His academic and clinical work is expected to support the institute’s focus on strengthening healthcare services, medical education and research.

During his tenure, AIIMS Jammu will focus on expanding and strengthening clinical services, improving medical education, promoting research and innovation, and encouraging interdisciplinary academic collaboration, the spokesperson said.

The institute also plans to provide greater opportunities for faculty and students to participate in research and strengthen evidence-based clinical practice.

Sinha’s appointment as executive director of AIIMS Jammu has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for a period of three years from the date he assumed charge, or until he reaches the age of 70 years, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The leadership transition follows the conclusion of Sharma’s tenure as executive director and CEO. Sharma assumed charge of AIIMS Jammu on January 10, 2026, and led the institution during a key phase of its development.

Sinha’s appointment adds new academic and clinical leadership at the institute as AIIMS Jammu continues to expand its clinical, educational, and research activities.
