Samsung has launched the beta version of Samsung Health Assistant, an artificial intelligence-powered personal health assistant embedded within the Samsung Health app. The feature is now available to eligible users across the US.

The AI-powered assistant enables users to ask health-related questions and receive personalized guidance and recommendations through what Samsung describes as its "unique knowledge base." According to the company, the insights provided by the assistant have been validated by a team of physicians and certified health coaches.

"Our new Health Assistant advances Samsung's vision for Connected Care by giving users a deeper understanding of their mind and body through daily health monitoring and increasing opportunities for early detection," said Hon Pak, MD, Senior Vice President and Head of the Digital Health Team at Samsung Electronics.

Samsung Health Assistant connects health information using Samsung Health's five core pillars of wellness: sleep, activity, nutrition, mindfulness, and vitals.

The company had previously announced plans to launch the tool in August. Samsung said the rollout marks a significant step in bringing AI-driven health guidance to consumers through its digital health platform.

The launch is part of Samsung's broader healthcare strategy. In July, the company acquired digital health platform Xealth and has also announced partnerships with Lark Health and Neuroscape.

According to Samsung, the Xealth acquisition connects everyday wellness data with clinical care, enabling user-consented health insights to be shared with care teams. The company said the acquisition also supports its efforts to integrate data from Samsung wearables and connected devices into clinical workflows and electronic medical records.

"By leveraging our ecosystem and partnerships, we aim to deliver a holistic understanding of health and drive real action, helping users build healthier habits and bringing real change to their lives," Pak said.

Speaking about the role of technology in healthcare, Pak noted that while physicians typically see patients only a few times each year, individuals make health and lifestyle decisions every day. He said technology can help bridge that gap by making care actionable through wearable devices and AI-powered health coaching.

Samsung said future capabilities of Samsung Health Assistant will include coaching to help users achieve health goals, along with more personalized responses and recommendations.
