QC Healthcare, Sanguina Partner to Bring AI-Powered Blood Health Technologies to Virtual Care

The collaboration will use non-invasive fingernail analysis to support screening for anemia, circulation, and other blood-health risk profiles.

QC Healthcare, a US-based healthcare innovation holding company, has partnered with Sanguina, a US-based digital health and biotechnology company, to integrate AI-powered blood health technologies into its virtual care platforms, beginning with My Pediatric Doctor and My Adult Doctor.

The collaboration will use non-invasive fingernail analysis to support screening for anemia, circulation, and other blood-health risk profiles.

The initial deployment will focus on QC Healthcare’s nationwide 24/7 pediatric and adult telehealth platforms, with further applications being evaluated across its broader healthcare ecosystem.

Sanguina’s platform analyses fingernail video to generate blood-health insights, including an anemia screening capability and a Circulation Score. The latter measures the speed and time taken for blood to return to the fingertips after brief pressure is released.

The companies said these measurements are intended to support screening, monitoring and clinical decision-making, rather than replace laboratory tests, physical examinations or emergency care.

For My Pediatric Doctor, the technology could provide additional information when clinicians assess issues linked to childhood development, nutrition and chronic conditions.

My Adult Doctor could use between-visit blood-health information as added context for patients experiencing fatigue or unexplained symptoms, managing chronic conditions, undergoing preventive evaluations or receiving pregnancy and postpartum care.

The companies are also evaluating potential applications in maternal health, oncology and veterans’ care.

Future plans include potential integration with My VA Doctor and My Oncology Doctor, which are currently in development.

Other possible deployments could involve hospitals, health systems, employers, payers, maternal-health programmes and research organisations for remote monitoring, chronic disease management and follow-up care.

The collaboration will also support clinical validation, real-world evidence generation and clinical trial activities. Any expansion into additional clinical applications will be subject to appropriate validation and regulatory review, according to the companies.
