Prosper AI has raised $30 million in a Series A funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) as the healthcare AI startup looks to expand its agentic AI platform designed to automate administrative operations across the patient journey.

The funding comes less than a year after the company announced its seed round and will be used to grow engineering and customer-facing teams, deepen integrations with major electronic health record (EHR) platforms, and accelerate adoption among healthcare providers and health systems.
Founded in 2023 by co-CEOs Josep Mingot and Xavier de Gracia, Prosper AI focuses on automating healthcare administrative tasks including patient scheduling, insurance eligibility verification, patient billing, and payer communications. Unlike point solutions that address a single workflow, the company has positioned its platform as an end-to-end operational layer for healthcare organizations.
According to Prosper AI, the platform now serves 60 healthcare organizations, including outpatient provider groups, health systems, and healthcare technology companies. The company claims it has expanded across more than 150,000 healthcare providers and manages $1.3 billion in patient care activity.
The startup reported fivefold revenue growth since its seed funding announcement in September and added more than 40 healthcare organizations during that period.
Prosper AI currently deploys AI agents for scheduling, insurance benefits verification, and billing. The company is also developing additional use cases focused on administrative communications, including prescription refills and insurance updates.
The platform integrates with several healthcare technology systems, including athenahealth, ModMed, Veradigm, eClinicalWorks (ECW), and ImagineSoftware. Prosper AI said healthcare organizations are increasingly seeking platforms capable of managing multiple operational workflows rather than standalone scheduling tools.
Company executives said providers using the platform have reported automation rates of up to 60%–70% for scheduling-related workflows. Prosper AI also stated that some customers have seen revenue increases of up to 12%, driven by improved patient financial clearance and reduced administrative delays.
According to the company, it wins approximately 80% of competitive evaluations for healthcare AI operations platforms. Recent customers include Jackson Memorial Hospital, Preferred Dermatology, athenahealth, and ImagineSoftware.
Prosper AI said its long-term focus is to build an AI-powered workforce that supports healthcare operations teams across pre-visit, visit, and post-visit administrative processes.
