Pratap University to Establish Maharana Pratap MediCity With 600-Bed Hospital in Jaipur

The 600-bed multi-specialty hospital will be developed in two phases. The first phase is expected to begin operations by the end of 2026, while the second phase is planned for July-August 2027.

Pratap University, Jaipur, is set to establish Maharana Pratap MediCity across 40 acres of its campus in Chandwaji, Jaipur, bringing together a 600-bed multi-specialty hospital, a 100-bed Ayurveda hospital and facilities for medical and healthcare education.

The integrated facility will support academic programmes and clinical training across medical, nursing, Ayurveda, paramedical and veterinary disciplines. Programmes planned at the MediCity include MBBS, Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), BSc Nursing, General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM), physiotherapy, medical laboratory technology and technician courses.

The university will also offer the Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) programme as part of the MediCity's academic offerings.

Academic programmes across medical, nursing, paramedical, Ayurveda and veterinary disciplines are expected to commence from the 2027-28 academic session.

MediCity is planned as an integrated setting that combines classroom-based education with clinical and practical training. Students will receive exposure to healthcare environments through the hospital and associated facilities as part of their academic programmes.

The project will also focus on training healthcare professionals for hospitals and healthcare institutions across Rajasthan, particularly in nursing and paramedical fields.

Commenting on the project, Shailendra Bhadauria, Chancellor, Pratap University, said, “Maharana Pratap MediCity is envisioned as a place where education, healthcare and skill development come together. We aim to create an institution where students receive strong academic foundations along with meaningful practical exposure, while the healthcare facilities serve the wider community.”

Bhadauria added that the initiative is intended to help meet the demand for trained healthcare professionals in Jaipur, Rajasthan, and healthcare institutions across the country.
