Philips Strengthens Patient Monitoring Ecosystem with New Partnerships
The Partnership aims to expand its existing wearable and out-of-hospital monitoring capabilities and support more continuous, connected care across the patient journey.
Global healthtech leader Royal Philips has announced the expansion of its patient monitoring ecosystem through new collaborations aimed at extending patient visibility across hospital, transitional, and home-based care settings.
The Netherlands-based company has partnered with six healthcare technology companies, including Blue Spark Technologies, Caretaker Medical, Cuviva, LifeSignals, Respiree, and smartQare, to expand its existing wearable and out-of-hospital monitoring capabilities and support more continuous, connected care across the patient journey.
The expanded ecosystem is designed to provide healthcare organisations with greater visibility of patients as they move across different stages of care, including hospital admission, inpatient treatment, discharge and recovery at home.
The new collaborations expand the range of continuous measurements that can be integrated into the Philips existing ecosystem, including the Patient Information Center (PIC) iX.
The initiative is intended to support monitoring programmes that can be adapted to different clinical and operational requirements while maintaining connectivity across care environments.
Commenting on the latest development, Sangdo Kim, Category Leader, NextGen Acute and Transitional Care Monitoring, Philips said, “Monitoring is no longer just about what happens at the bedside. Healthcare organizations need a more connected approach that helps clinicians maintain visibility into patient status across care settings.”
“By building an open, enterprise-wide ecosystem that connects technologies, data and workflows, we can help deliver continuous patient insight, support smoother transitions in care, and create a more coordinated experience for clinicians and patients,” he added.
The Tech Portfolio
The expanded network includes Blue Spark Technologies' TempTraq, a disposable wearable patch designed for continuous core body temperature monitoring; Caretaker Medical's VitalStream, which supports continuous non-invasive blood pressure and hemodynamic monitoring; and Cuviva's Hospital-at-Home platform, which provides digital monitoring and real-time communication.
The ecosystem also incorporates LifeSignals' UbiqVue Multiparameter Biosensor, a wireless wearable designed to monitor parameters including ECG, oxygen saturation, pulse rate, respiration, body temperature, posture and motion.
Respiree's 1Bio platform, 1BioAI and RS001 wearable biosensor technology support continuous cardio-respiratory monitoring, while smartQare's viQtor and Healthdot biosensors support monitoring of parameters such as pulse, respiration, SpO₂, skin temperature and activity.
Together, these capabilities complement Philips' broader connected care portfolio, including solutions designed to support monitoring beyond discharge, such as the Philips Mobile Cardiac Telemetry (MCOT).
The MCOT solution enables clinicians to remotely monitor eligible cardiac patients for up to 30 days following an inpatient or emergency department evaluation, supporting continuity of care as patients transition to the appropriate care pathway.
By combining enterprise patient-monitoring capabilities with an open network of technology partners, Philips aims to expand its approach to continuous patient monitoring across the care continuum, including hospital, post-discharge, and home-based care.
