Mayo Clinic Laboratories, Pathology Asia Partner to Expand Precision Diagnostics Across APAC

As part of the collaboration, William Morice II, M.D., PhD, president and CEO of Mayo Clinic Laboratories, has been appointed Scientific Adviser to Pathology Asia Holdings.

Mayo Clinic Laboratories and Pathology Asia Holdings have announced a strategic investment and collaboration to expand access to advanced Diagnostics and Precision Medicine across Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, with LifeStrands Genomics, a genomics and life science subsidiary of Pathology Asia, playing a central role in the genomics-focused initiative.

Mayo Clinic Laboratories and Pathology Asia Holdings have strengthened their long-standing relationship by combining Mayo Clinic Laboratories’ clinical and diagnostic expertise with Pathology Asia’s regional laboratory network and market capabilities.

As part of the collaboration, William Morice II, M.D., PhD, president and CEO of Mayo Clinic Laboratories, has been appointed Scientific Adviser to Pathology Asia Holdings.

Pathology Asia operates across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines and Australia, providing pathology and laboratory Diagnostics through a network that includes Innoquest, Singapore Diagnostics, TissuPath and Safework Health.

Its specialist genomics businesses include LifeStrands Genomics and DNA Laboratories.

The collaboration will focus significantly on expanding molecular and genomic testing through LifeStrands Genomics. The organisations plan to support testing for genetic conditions, disease-risk assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning, allowing healthcare providers to incorporate genomic information into more personalised care.

In selected markets, LifeStrands Genomics will operate as “LifeStrands in collaboration with Mayo Clinic Laboratories.”

LifeStrands Genomics operates specialist laboratories in Singapore and Australia alongside DNA Laboratories, providing molecular and genomic testing across areas including oncology, reproductive health, inherited disorders and wellness.

The two organisations will also pursue joint scientific initiatives, education and thought leadership to support the wider adoption of genomics in clinical practice.

Mayo Clinic Laboratories provides more than 4,400 tests and pathology services through its partnership with Mayo Clinic’s Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology.
