KIMS Hospitals has inaugurated the KIMS RENOVA Oncology Institute in Mahadevapura, Bengaluru, expanding its oncology care capabilities through a comprehensive cancer treatment center that integrates medical oncology, surgical oncology, robotic surgery, diagnosis, screening, and supportive care services.
The facility was inaugurated by former Indian cricketer and Head of Cricket at the National Cricket Academy, VVS Laxman. The launch event brought together healthcare professionals, oncology specialists, cancer survivors, and community representatives.
Dr. B. Bhaskar Rao, Chairman and Managing Director of KIMS Group of Hospitals, said the institute represents a step toward expanding access to advanced cancer care while combining specialized expertise with modern oncology technologies.
As part of the inauguration, KIMS RENOVA Oncology Institute, in collaboration with the Samrohana Cancer Foundation, announced a pledge to organize 134 free cancer awareness and screening camps for underserved communities. The initiative is inspired by Laxman’s 134 Test appearances for India and aims to promote early detection and cancer awareness.

According to KIMS Hospitals, the oncology institute has been established in association with KIMS MACS OncoSurgery and is designed to function as a multidisciplinary oncology ecosystem. The center will provide integrated services across cancer prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, and post-treatment support.
Dr. Nitish Shetty, Managing Director of KIMS Hospitals Bengaluru, said the collaboration brings together KIMS Hospitals’ healthcare infrastructure, RENOVA’s oncology expertise, and KIMS MACS Onco Surgery’s surgical capabilities to deliver comprehensive cancer treatment.
The institute is expected to serve patients from Bengaluru and nearby regions through a coordinated model focused on personalized and multidisciplinary cancer care.
