The proposed facility is intended to serve patients from Jenin and neighbouring governorates including Tulkarm and Tubas.

In a major step towards strengthening healthcare infrastructure cooperation, India and Palestine have partnered to set up a 200-bed super-speciality hospital in the West Bank.

The proposed facility will feature modern medical facilities and a dedicated trauma centre.

It is intended to serve patients from Jenin and neighbouring governorates, including Tulkarm and Tubas.

As part of the initiative, a bilateral Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two countries to advance the implementation of the facility.

The agreement is expected to provide a framework for moving ahead with the implementation of the hospital project and strengthening healthcare delivery capacity in the region.

The support framework includes the supply of essential anti-cancer medicines, an Artificial Limb Fitment Camp and plans to deploy an Indian field hospital in Gaza.

According to officials, the bilateral engagement is expected to advance cooperation across healthcare, capacity building and digital innovation.

The latest initiative forms a part of India’s existing efforts to strengthen bilateral and cross-border healthcare cooperation.

In an earlier development, India and Bhutan have also deepened their bilateral healthcare. In July 2026, AIIMS New Delhi and Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences (KGUMS), Bhutan, signed an MoU to strengthen institutional cooperation, building on the broader health and medicine partnership between the two countries.
