IIT Kanpur will leverage TMH’s extensive expertise in cancer care, clinical research, oncology training, and hospital planning to design and develop a future-ready oncology ecosystem at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.
IIT Kanpur has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH), a unit of Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai and one of the world’s leading cancer care and research institutions.
The partnership aims to guide the establishment of a state-of-the-art oncology hospital at the Gangwal School of Medical Sciences and Technology at IIT Kanpur, strengthening the institute’s vision to emerge as a key hub for comprehensive cancer care, research, and innovation in North India.
Under this collaboration, IIT Kanpur will leverage TMH’s extensive expertise in cancer care, clinical research, oncology training, and hospital planning to design and develop a future-ready oncology ecosystem at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.
The joint effort is expected to advance accessible and high-quality cancer care, bolster medical education, and accelerate MedTech innovation in Uttar Pradesh, with a special focus on improving outcomes for patients from underserved regions.
