Fullspan Health has launched Healthline AI, a conversational artificial intelligence companion designed to answer health-related questions and connect consumers with relevant healthcare providers and resources.

The new tool draws exclusively from Fullspan Health’s medically reviewed content ecosystem, including Healthline, Healthgrades, Medical News Today, and Psych Central. According to the company, Healthline AI is intended to help users access trusted health information while guiding them toward appropriate next steps in their care journey.

Initially, the platform focuses on Type 2 diabetes-related information, with plans to expand coverage to additional health conditions. Fullspan Health said the tool is expected to scale across its audience of approximately 63 million monthly unique users.

Berkeley Bethune, Vice President of Relationship Marketing at Fullspan Health, said the company developed the tool in response to growing consumer demand for more actionable health experiences.

“What makes Healthline AI fundamentally different is that it is grounded in our medically vetted content and designed around outcomes, not answers alone,” Bethune said in a statement. “Most AI experiences stop at information.”

The launch comes as the use of AI chatbots for healthcare-related inquiries continues to rise. According to OpenAI, more than 800 million regular ChatGPT users submit healthcare-related prompts each week, while over 40 million users seek health information through the platform daily.

Consumer adoption data from a March survey conducted by Rock Health showed that 32% of respondents reported using chatbots to find answers to health questions, compared with 16% in 2024.

Fullspan Health also cited its own consumer research, which found that 90% of respondents expressed interest in a conversational health experience. Nearly 70% indicated they would consider such an experience more trustworthy than general-purpose AI tools, according to the company.

Christine Maguire, Executive Vice President and Chief Business Officer at Fullspan Health, said healthcare organizations and pharmaceutical marketers are increasingly looking for AI solutions that balance innovation with safety and compliance requirements.

“Healthline AI was built specifically to solve that tension,” Maguire said. “It delivers a conversational experience grounded in medically reviewed content, privacy-first architecture, and healthcare-specific guardrails.”
