E-Prescription Facility Launched at 48 PHCs in Lucknow

The system will link patients’ medication details directly to each patient’s (ABHA) ID, securing their health records digitally.
Lucknow has launched a new prescription facility at 48 Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHCs) to ensure easier access and readability of doctors’ prescriptions for patients.
With direct linkage to the Ayushman Bharat Health Account ABHA IDs, the system guarantees accurate and clearly recorded medication details, while ensuring the safe and secure storage of each patient’s health data in a digital format.
NB Singh, Chief medical officer, said, “The prescription will be linked with the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) ID of the patient and the digital slip can be printed too, where names of medicines will be visibly clear.”
With handwritten prescriptions often hard to read, this new system will help patients get the right medicines more easily and keep their records safe and accessible.
The prescription being linked to the patient’s ABHA ID will give doctors easy access to their medical history, which will be especially useful when patients need to retrieve their medical records for future treatment.
The facility will soon be expanded to the remaining 6 Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHCs), with 108 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs) in urban areas also set to adopt it.
