BlackSoil Invests INR 110 Cr in Regency Hospital for Expansion in Tier-2 Markets
Regency operates hospitals and healthcare facilities in Kanpur, Lucknow and Gorakhpur, providing multi- and super-specialty services including oncology, nephrology, gastroenterology, cardiology and critical care.
Regency Hospital, a tertiary care healthcare provider in Uttar Pradesh, has raised INR 110 crore from BlackSoil Capital to fund new healthcare infrastructure and expand its capacity across the state.
Regency operates hospitals and healthcare facilities in Kanpur, Lucknow and Gorakhpur, providing multi- and super-specialty services including oncology, nephrology, gastroenterology, cardiology and critical care.
The investment comes amid rising demand for specialized healthcare services beyond India’s major metropolitan centers. Healthcare operators expanding across tier-2 and tier-3 cities are increasingly seeking institutional capital to add capacity and develop specialized services, supported by broader insurance coverage and greater penetration of government healthcare schemes.
Abhishek Kapoor, CEO, Regency Hospital Limited, said the financing will support investments in new healthcare infrastructure and enable the company to build additional capacity in markets where demand for specialized care continues to increase.
BlackSoil has investments across healthcare segments including hospitals, diagnostics and medical equipment distribution. The firm said it sees further financing opportunities across hospitals, diagnostics, specialty healthcare operators and medical equipment businesses.
BlackSoil also plans to pursue additional healthcare credit opportunities over the next 12–18 months, as healthcare infrastructure expansion continues across smaller Indian cities.
