The company plans to use the fresh capital to accelerate its digital growth strategy while expanding its community-based distribution model through women entrepreneurs.

Mumbai-based women's health startup Avni Wellness has raised INR 4 crore in a strategic funding round to expand its operations in India's growing femtech and women's wellness market. The company will use the capital to strengthen its digital commerce platform, expand its cycle nutrition portfolio, and scale its women-led microentrepreneur network to 10,000 entrepreneurs across the country.

The funding round was led by Proteus Partners, Avni Wellness' earliest institutional investor. Existing ecosystem partner Proteus was joined by operator-investors Puru Gupta and Sreejith Moolayil, former co-founders of True Elements, bringing direct-to-consumer (D2C) industry expertise. The round also saw participation from Dr. A. Velumani, founder of Thyrocare, and impact investor Somya Nigam through Bharat ke Super Founders.

Avni Wellness operates in the women's health segment, offering products focused on menstrual hygiene, cycle nutrition, hormonal wellness, and preventive care. The company said it is building an integrated health ecosystem that addresses multiple stages of women's health rather than focusing solely on hygiene products.

According to the company, India's feminine hygiene products market is projected to reach INR 70.20 billion by 2025. While the category continues to grow steadily, women's nutritional and hormonal wellness remains relatively underpenetrated, creating opportunities for preventive and science-backed healthcare solutions.

The company plans to use the fresh capital to accelerate its digital growth strategy while expanding its community-based distribution model through women entrepreneurs. It also intends to strengthen its product portfolio in cycle nutrition as demand for holistic women's health solutions continues to increase.

Avni Wellness' product portfolio includes what it says is India's first patented antimicrobial reusable sanitary pad and a liposomal iron supplement designed to improve nutrient absorption and help address iron deficiency among women.

Beyond menstrual care, the company also offers products targeting polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), calcium supplementation, urinary tract infection (UTI) and vaginal health, and seed-based hormonal nutrition, covering multiple aspects of women's health and wellness.
