Athelas Launches AI-Powered Practice Manager for Billing, Scheduling, and Patient Communication

Athelas, powered by Commure, has launched Practice Manager, an AI-powered practice management suite designed to automate administrative workflows across billing, scheduling, and patient communication. Practice Manager integrates payer eligibility checks, claims history, remittance information, and denial management into one interface. According to Athelas, the platform includes an AI copilot that drafts claim corrections, applies plain-language rules to review claims before submission, and automates payment posting from deposits through explanations of benefits (EOBs). The company said these capabilities allow organizations to process up to 10 times more claims within the same timeframe.

"Practice Manager is purpose-built to supercharge billing teams, allowing them to focus on the highest leverage tasks, while automating all repetitive work. The same automations we've run on millions of claims across our RCM stack are now available to all," said Hersh Solanki, Chief Business Officer at Athelas.

The new offering expands the Athelas platform, which also includes Air EHR, Ambient AI, Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Managed Services, and Voice Agents. Together, these products support clinical documentation, billing, scheduling, and patient communication through a unified platform.

Athelas said its platform currently supports healthcare organizations responsible for approximately 7% of healthcare appointments in the United States and processes billions of insurance claims. The company also launched an updated corporate website alongside the product announcement.

The company cited customer results from organizations using its platform. Lattimore Physical Therapy reportedly reduced billing costs by 75% while expanding to 35 additional locations. Oxford PT, an 11-location physical therapy provider, recorded its highest monthly revenue after adopting the Athelas platform, according to the company.

Practice Manager is now generally available for healthcare providers. Athelas said the platform is designed to help practices automate repetitive administrative processes while improving visibility into revenue cycle operations and claims management.
