Apollo Hospitals has appointed Rahul Pasumarthy as Vice President, Apollo International, strengthening its leadership team focused on international healthcare markets and global patient services.
Pasumarthy joins Apollo Hospitals with experience across global healthcare systems and international healthcare markets.
According to information shared by the organisation, his international exposure is expected to support Apollo Hospitals' efforts to strengthen its global presence, expand international patient services, and deepen collaborations across international healthcare markets.
Announcing the development on LinkedIn, Pasumarthy said the decision to join Apollo Hospitals was influenced by a conversation with the group's founder, Dr. Prathap C. Reddy.
"I'm delighted to share that I've joined Apollo Hospitals as Vice President - Apollo International.
Prior to joining Apollo Hospitals, Pasumarthy held leadership positions across healthcare consulting, transformation, and advisory roles in the Middle East, Europe, and international healthcare markets.
His professional experience also includes working as an independent global healthcare transformation consultant and serving as Executive Engagement Director for Healthcare and Lifesciences at Monstarlab. In these roles, he was involved in healthcare transformation initiatives, stakeholder engagement, and strategic advisory services across multiple healthcare ecosystems.
Pasumarthy has additionally led consulting functions at Wilmington Healthcare and held senior leadership roles within the UK's National Health Service (NHS), including Associate Director and Assistant Director positions. His experience spans healthcare strategy, service delivery, consulting, and operational transformation across public and private healthcare settings.
This move was inspired by a conversation with Dr. Prathap C. Reddy, the "Healer" and pioneer of India's private healthcare industry. His vision and passion for transforming healthcare, combined with Apollo's ambition to be a leading force behind the "Heal in India, Heal by India" movement, made this an opportunity I was deeply excited to be part of."
Pasumarthy said his experience across healthcare systems worldwide would help him contribute to the organisation's international growth ambitions.
"Having had the privilege of working across different health systems and healthcare markets around the world, I'm excited and humbled to bring those experiences to Apollo as it continues to expand its global impact and touch more lives."
He also highlighted the personal significance of returning to Hyderabad as part of the new role.
"The icing on the cake is being back home in Hyderabad and closer to family.
Looking forward to contributing to an organisation whose purpose of "Touching Lives" resonates deeply with my own passion for improving healthcare access and outcomes."
The appointment comes as Apollo Hospitals continues its focus on international healthcare outreach and global patient engagement initiatives.
