The new capabilities, combined with the earlier launched Chart Chat for Nursing, establish a single, comprehensive system designed to support bedside nurses from pre-shift preparation through post-intervention charting.

San Francisco-based Ambience Healthcare, a leading AI platform for clinical documentation and revenue integrity, has announced an expansion of its nursing intelligence platform with the launch of Nursing Summary and Ambient Flowsheet Documentation.

The new capabilities, combined with the earlier launched Chart Chat for Nursing, establish a single, comprehensive system designed to support bedside nurses from pre-shift preparation through post-intervention charting.

The solution is intended to address challenges identified by nursing professionals, including cognitive workload and clinical documentation demands.

The system utilizes chart-aware reasoning to read and synthesize the patient’s entire longitudinal EHR record, tracking hospital course, lab trends, and social determinants automatically without recording requirements.

As per the platform, its nursing suite is designed to support nurses throughout their shifts with three key capabilities.

The Nursing Summary feature provides nurses with an overview of each patient before a shift begins, including clinical history, key events since admission, discharge-related information, psychosocial factors, and handoff details.

In addition, Chart Chat for Nursing allows nurses to ask questions about their patients' care at any point during the shift in plain language.

The tool is intended to retrieve and summarize information from clinical notes, medications, diagnostic reports, and hospital policies, while providing source references for the information used.

Furher, the Ambient Flowsheet Documentation is designed to convert spoken patient assessments into structured flowsheet entries, reducing the need for manual documentation. The information is further reviewed by a nurse and confirmed by other nurses before being added to the record.

As per the company, the entire suite operates on a chart-aware foundation that analyzes data contextually across multiple encounters, rather than treating each bed visit as an isolated event.

Further, the suite also incorporates multiple safety measures, including pre-deployment testing, real-time monitoring of response quality, and nurse feedback mechanisms.

Speaking on the latest system, Nikhil Buduma, Co-Founder and CEO of Ambience Healthcare, said, "We started by listening to nurses, not by adapting tools built for other care settings. What they told us, consistently, is that documentation is only part of the problem. The bigger challenge is everything that comes before it: understanding every patient, staying on top of changes throughout the shift, and carrying the constant anxiety of not missing something critical. This suite is built to address all of it.”
