West Bengal Allots 50 Acres to Truevis Technologies for INR 500 Cr Medical Equipment Plant

Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced the land allocation on October 14 during the inauguration of AdPerMa Private Limited's INR 6,000 crore integrated phenol and acetone complex in Haldia.

West Bengal has allotted 50 acres of land in Haldia to Truevis Technologies Pvt. Ltd. for a proposed INR 500 crore medical equipment manufacturing plant, which is expected to create more than 5,000 direct and indirect jobs during its operational phase. The facility will be the company's second manufacturing base in India and its first in eastern India.

Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced the land allocation on October 14 during the inauguration of AdPerMa Private Limited's INR 6,000 crore integrated phenol and acetone complex in Haldia. He also announced plans for an additional INR 10,000 crore in investments in the port town and said the state would introduce a new industrial policy before Diwali.

The proposed policy is expected to cover industrial incentives, land allocation and power tariffs.

Plant to Manufacture Over 1,000 Units Annually

Following the formal land handover, Truevis plans to invest up to INR 500 crore in infrastructure, production and assembly lines, testing and calibration facilities, quality systems, technology integration and workforce development. The project will be developed in phases.

The facility is expected to have an annual production capacity of more than 1,000 units of large medical equipment. Planned product categories include diagnostic imaging equipment, patient monitoring systems, radiotherapy and radiology equipment, along with related components and assemblies.

The company expects domestic value addition to increase as it localizes component manufacturing and develops a supporting vendor ecosystem.

Additionally, Truevis expects the new facility to help it generate more than INR 1,000 crore in annual business within five years of commissioning. The company said the manufacturing base would improve customer service, reduce dependence on imports in select product categories, and support its expansion in India's healthcare equipment market.

A Truevis spokesperson said the company plans to manufacture large medical equipment in Bengal for markets across eastern India and beyond. The company also plans to progressively localize components and partner with local technical institutions to build a skilled workforce.

Project Expected to Generate Over 5,000 Jobs

The project is expected to create employment in assembly, testing, quality control, biomedical engineering, and field service. Additional jobs are anticipated in construction, logistics, supply chain operations, installation, and equipment servicing.

The company plans to work with technical institutions, including CIPET and Durgachak ITI, to train technicians and engineers for the facility.

The project aligns with the state government's stated focus on domestic manufacturing, import substitution and industrial employment under its proposed “Atmanirbhar Bangla” initiative. India continues to rely on imports for several categories of medical equipment, making domestic manufacturing a key area of focus for the healthcare technology sector.
