MedGenome Acquires Majority Stake in Medcare Management Services to Expand Imaging and Diagnostics
The move aims to expand MedGenome’s integrated diagnostics footprint across western India and strengthen its multi-omics–driven care model.
MedGenome has announced a majority investment in Medcare Management Services Pvt. Ltd., a Mumbai-based radiology and nuclear medicine company.
The move aims to expand MedGenome’s integrated diagnostics footprint across western India and strengthen its multi-omics–driven care model.
Founded in 2012, Medcare operates four imaging centres across Mumbai (Chembur, Goregaon, Andheri) and Navi Mumbai. Its services include PET-CT, CT, mammography, nuclear medicine scans, and theragnostics. The company has established a referral network of over 50 hospitals and physicians in the region.
The partnership merges Medcare’s expertise in nuclear medicine and advanced imaging with MedGenome’s strengths in genomics and data-driven diagnostics. This integration is intended to support early detection, disease stratification, and treatment planning, particularly in oncology and other complex conditions.
Medcare’s promoters will continue to manage operations and lead growth initiatives in collaboration with MedGenome. Representatives of Novo Holdings, an investor in MedGenome, highlighted that the investment is a strategic step toward building a comprehensive diagnostics ecosystem in India, combining imaging, pathology, and multi-omics capabilities for earlier and more precise diagnoses.
MedGenome leadership emphasized the importance of diagnostics as the starting point in disease management. Integrating Medcare’s capabilities strengthens its ability to provide end-to-end solutions across the patient journey. PET-CT imaging, when complemented with genomic testing, can improve early cancer detection, guide targeted therapies, and enhance monitoring outcomes.
The acquisition aligns with MedGenome’s broader strategy to evolve into a fully integrated diagnostics provider, combining radiology, pathology, and genomics on a single platform. The company plans to scale technology-driven, patient-centric diagnostic services while expanding access to precision healthcare across India.
