Dr Nandkumar Jairam, former Chairman of Columbia Asia Hospitals, reflected on the evolution of healthcare over the past five decades. He said episodic care remained the norm because technology to support continuous care did not exist earlier. Today, while AI offers significant potential, clinician reluctance, accountability concerns, lack of regulation, and slow EMR adoption remain key barriers. He stressed that education, governance, and high-quality data are essential for successful AI adoption.
