India’s homecare medical equipment market was valued at approximately USD 1.5 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach USD 2.4 billion by 2034.

Apollo Homecare has recently reported nearly double year-on-year growth in medical equipment rentals in FY26, while equipment sales grew nearly 140% over the same period, driven by rising demand for home medical equipment.

The company’s rental growth last year was around 7%, while equipment sales grew around 24%. The latest figures reflect a shift towards home-based medical care, with families increasingly renting or purchasing oxygen concentrators, CPAP machines, hospital beds and wheelchairs for use after hospital discharge.

Respiratory equipment accounted for a bulk of Apollo Homecare’s demand, supported by its specialised step-down care services for patients discharged from hospital intensive care units to home.

According to IMARC Group, India’s homecare medical equipment market was valued at approximately USD 1.5 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach USD 2.4 billion by 2034.

To address the demand, Apollo Homecare has expanded its sales and service presence across Delhi NCR, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Kolkata, with deliveries available across India beyond these locations. The company has also upgraded its e commerce platform to help families compare rental and purchase options, explore financing and access guidance from trained technicians and biomedical engineers.

Vishal Lathwal, CEO, Apollo Homecare, said, "Most families end up in a peculiar situation at the time of hospital discharge or post a Doctor consultation. The tedious journey of navigating between products, providers and pricing. The decision is rushed given need and the options feel overwhelming. We want to change that. We partner with our patients and help make an informed choice starting with expert-backed counselling to choose the right product, flexibility of buying vs renting and which makes the most sense for them, financing the purchase if needed, doorstep installation and post purchase support."

Medical equipment rentals can offer families a lower-cost option during short recovery periods compared with an extended hospital stay, while purchasing equipment may be more economical for longer-term needs. For hospitals, homecare options for clinically stable patients can also help free up acute care beds for those who need them.

However, awareness of home use medical equipment remains a challenge, as some patients learn about rental options only when preparing for discharge. Apollo Homecare is seeking to address this gap through its product range, digital platform, service network and guidance to help customers make informed decisions.

Apollo Homecare provides clinical services at home, including post-discharge nursing, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, eldercare, specialty care, critical care support and medical equipment solutions. Its services are delivered by trained clinical teams through care plans tailored to individual patient needs, with ongoing monitoring throughout the care period.
