Immuneel Therapeutics has entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) to accelerate clinical and translational research in advanced cell and gene therapies in India.
Tata Memorial Centre, an aided institute under the Department of Atomic Energy, is a comprehensive cancer treatment and research institution. Through the collaboration, the two organisations aim to combine TMC's clinical and research expertise in oncology with Immuneel's capabilities in cell therapy development and manufacturing.
According to the announcement, the partnership is intended to strengthen India's innovation ecosystem in oncology and improve access to next-generation therapies for patients with difficult-to-treat cancers. The organisations will work together across clinical research, product development, manufacturing, and cancer care to advance immunotherapy and precision medicine.
The collaboration also reflects the growing partnership between government-supported research institutions and Indian industry to advance innovation and contribute to a technologically self-reliant healthcare ecosystem.
Under the MoU, Immuneel Therapeutics and Tata Memorial Centre will collaborate on a range of initiatives in cell and gene therapy, including clinical studies, translational research, manufacturing expansion, policy engagement, and educational programmes. The partnership is expected to provide a strategic framework for future projects aimed at accelerating innovation and improving patient outcomes in India.
The collaboration will also include policy engagement efforts to help shape frameworks for first-in-human clinical trials and support the broader development of India's regenerative medicine and advanced therapeutics ecosystem.
