Dr Dangs Lab Partners with Zydus Lifesciences to Roll Out Guardant Health's Multi-Cancer Detection Test Across India

The collaboration marks the first time an Indian laboratory has offered the blood-based test across the country, enabling eligible individuals to access the screening service through the laboratory's diagnostic and home collection network.
Delhi-based pathology and diagnostic centre, Dr Dangs Lab, has entered into a strategic partnership with Zydus Lifesciences, an Ahmedabad-based multinational pharmaceutical company, to introduce Guardant Health's Shield multi-cancer detection test nationwide for eligible adults aged 45 years and above.
The collaboration has expanded access to a precision oncology screening tool designed to detect multiple cancers in eligible individuals through a single blood sample.

Shield is a methylation-based blood test developed by Guardant Health, a California-based biotech company, for the detection of multiple cancer types, including bladder, colorectal, breast, prostate, oesophageal, gastric, liver, lung, ovarian and pancreatic cancers.
Unlike conventional screening methods that typically focus on a single organ, the multi-cancer detection test is designed to identify signals associated with several cancers from one blood sample, supporting earlier clinical evaluation where required.

The technology has also received Breakthrough Device Designation from the US Food and Drug Administration for selected cancer types based on findings from the National Cancer Institute Vanguard Study evaluating emerging multi-cancer detection technologies.
The designation recognises the potential of the technology but does not represent FDA approval or clearance.
