The transactions are expected to accelerate Cardinal Health’s growth in home-based healthcare services, with the company building on recent investments in direct-to-patient care delivery and technology-enabled distribution networks.

Cardinal Health has entered into agreements to acquire AdaptHealth Corp.’s diabetes health business and medical supply provider Strive Medical in separate transactions valued at $360 million. The acquisitions are part of Cardinal Health’s strategy to expand its at-home solutions business and strengthen its presence in diabetes management, urology and specialty medical supplies.

The transactions are expected to accelerate Cardinal Health’s growth in home-based healthcare services, with the company building on recent investments in direct-to-patient care delivery and technology-enabled distribution networks.

“These strategic transactions build on the synergies created by our recent investments in home care,” said Jason Hollar, CEO of Cardinal Health. “They expand our enterprise-wide depth and breadth across important therapeutic categories like diabetes management and urology.”

The deals remain subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.

AdaptHealth’s diabetes health business will be acquired for $235 million in cash. The business provides diabetes-related medical supplies, including continuous glucose monitors, through a centralized mail-order, direct-to-patient model. It serves more than 225,000 people annually.

The acquisition builds on Cardinal Health’s previous expansion into diabetes care through its $1.1 billion acquisition of Advanced Diabetes Supply Group (ADS) in April 2025. Following the acquisition, Cardinal Health integrated ADS operations into its at-home solutions technology platform, onboarded nearly 500,000 customers and launched ContinuCare Pathway, a digital referral program connecting pharmacies and suppliers.

Cardinal Health is also acquiring Strive Medical, an independent home medical supply provider focused on urology, wound care, ostomy and incontinence products. Strive Medical serves more than 20,000 people annually.

For AdaptHealth, the divestiture aligns with its strategy to focus on its core businesses, including sleep, respiratory and home medical equipment services.

The Strive Medical acquisition further expands Cardinal Health’s urology capabilities following its $1.9 billion acquisition of Solaris Health in August 2025, along with previous purchases of Urology America, Potomac Urology and Academic Urology & Urogynecology.

Cardinal Health has also expanded its specialty healthcare footprint through acquisitions in oncology and gastroenterology, including its acquisition of Integrated Oncology Network and plans to acquire a majority stake in GI Alliance.
