The company also announced the appointment of Brian Tufts as Chief Executive Officer, marking a leadership transition aimed at scaling operations and strengthening its presence across healthcare systems.

Ambient Clinical Analytics has raised $5 million in a strategic funding round led by Mairs & Power Venture Capital, along with participation from a Fortune 500 MedTech company, as it accelerates expansion of its clinical decision support platform.

The company also announced the appointment of Brian Tufts as Chief Executive Officer, marking a leadership transition aimed at scaling operations and strengthening its presence across healthcare systems.

Ambient Clinical Analytics develops software that integrates real-time clinical analytics, decision support, and workflow automation tools to address gaps in patient data accessibility and care coordination. The platform is designed to support clinicians in high-acuity environments where timely interpretation of patient data is critical.

The newly raised capital will be deployed to advance product innovation and expand adoption of the company’s AWARE platform, an FDA Class II-cleared system. Built on clinically validated algorithms and licensed technology from Mayo Clinic, the platform converts complex clinical data into actionable insights to support faster clinical decision-making.

Hospitals using the platform have applied its workflow tools to improve adherence to sepsis protocols, an area often associated with variability in care delivery. The system is currently deployed across bedside settings, command centers, and remote monitoring environments.

Brian Tufts joins the company with prior leadership roles at Vantive and Baxter, where he led growth initiatives across healthcare markets. As CEO, he is expected to focus on expanding market reach, strengthening partnerships, and scaling the company’s platform capabilities.

Commenting on the development, Tufts said, “Hospitals do not lack data; yet doctors and nurses have few resources that deliver clarity in a dynamic clinical environment. Ambient is addressing this challenge with our unique combination of real-time clinical analytics, clinical decision support, and workflow tools.”

As part of the transition, founder Al Berning will move into the role of Executive Chairman, continuing to support long-term strategy and expansion efforts.
